Sheki Day Trip

Discover the allure of Sheki on a day excursion from Baku. Immerse yourself in its rich culture, breathtaking architecture, and the picturesque landscapes nestled at the base of the Great Caucasus.

Day Trip Overview

We will convene at 50 Nizami St at the specified time to depart from Baku and embark on our adventure towards Sheki. Our journey begins with a delightful drive through the scenic Azerbaijani countryside.

Prior to our arrival in Sheki, we'll pause in Khiva to explore the Juma Mosque of Shamakhi. Appreciate the splendid architecture of this early 20th-century structure, which stands as a significant monument in Azerbaijan.

Continuing our journey, we will reach the Ismailli suspension bridge, suspended amid lush mountains, where you'll take in striking views of Azerbaijan's natural beauty. Enjoy a thrilling experience as we cross this bridge!

Our adventure continues as we stop by the beautiful Nohur Lake in Gabala. This serene spot, fringed by verdant forests and tranquil turquoise waters, is perfect for capturing stunning photographs.

In this picturesque environment, you will have time to relax and have lunch at your own pace. Once we've refueled, our journey to Sheki resumes.

Our first point of interest will be the remarkable Kanes Palace, an architectural wonder dating back to the 18th century. We will spend around 30 minutes marveling at its detailed craftsmanship and stunning stained-glass windows, uncovering its fascinating history.

Following this, we will visit the historic Karvansaray of Sheki. For half an hour, we will delve into this ancient stopover for Silk Road merchants, uncovering the trading heritage of the area while admiring its well-preserved structures.

Next, we will depart Sheki for the nearby town of Kish. Here, we will explore the Albanian church, recognized as one of the oldest churches in the Caucasus. Believed to date back to the 1st century, this tranquil site allows for a meditative experience amidst its serene surroundings.

Ultimately, we will return to Baku, concluding our day of exploration after approximately 14 hours of engaging discoveries.
