Our journey begins at the scheduled time on Rruga Mihal Komnena Street, where we set off on this free tour of Berat, known as the "City of a Thousand Windows". Curious about the origin of this nickname? Join us to uncover the story!

As we venture back to the 15th century, we'll delve into the Ottoman heritage of the city and admire the distinctive architectural styles present in the various neighborhoods of Berat. This ancient city, one of the oldest in the country, comprises three historic quarters: Mangalem, Gorica, and Kalaja.

While wandering through the old town, we will encounter the King’s Mosque, the Red and White Mosques, the Trinity Church, and the Halveti Tekke monument, each revealing a piece of the city's rich tapestry.

The exploration will progress into the historic core, recognized as a World Heritage Site. After crossing Republic's Boulevard, we will arrive at Berat Castle, a fortress adorned with splendid examples of Byzantine art.

After appreciating the castle's remarkable treasures, we'll make our way back to central Berat and conclude the walking tour approximately 2.5 hours after we began.
