Cotubanamá National Park Tour
Descrizione
Have you ever considered the way of life of the Taino people in the Dominican Caribbean? This exploration of Cotubanamá National Park invites you to delve into the caves they inhabited.
Tour Overview
Our journey begins when we convene at the prearranged time at the Boca de Yuma municipal cemetery, followed by a short trek to the entrance of Cotubanamá National Park. Prepare to unveil the secrets behind over 300 ancient cave paintings located within natural caves.
As we navigate the trails winding through the lush tropical landscape of Cotubanamá National Park, also referred to as Parque del Este, we will be treated to sights of vibrant avian species. Look out for the stunning crowned pigeon, herons, frigate birds, and pelicans among the greenery.
Continuing our adventure, we will arrive at the entrance of the prominent cave we will explore: the Berna Cave. Here, our path leads us through multiple caverns adorned with petroglyphs created by the ancient Taino civilization. Curious about the significance of these unique symbols engraved in the stone?
