The itinerary includes visits to the outsides of the city's most emblematic monuments, covering essential corners and revealing the rich stories imprinted in the streets of Bogota. At the Plazoleta del Rosario, you'll learn about the history of the statue that pays homage to Gonzalo Jiménez de Quezada, the city's founder, during his search for “El Dorado”.
Admire the well-preserved colonial architecture of the square while hearing about the evolution of the metropolis since its establishment in 1583. The tour continues to Plaza de Bolívar, the most renowned square in Bogota, dedicated to Simón Bolívar, who secured Colombia's independence in 1819, despite facing a significant assassination attempt. The guide will be waiting for you with a red umbrella in front of the Gold Museum (Carrera 6), Bogotá. We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before the indicated start time. Your guide will wait for 15 minutes, but if you are later, your booking will be marked as a no show.
