Private Day Excursion to Sigiriya & Dambulla

Your adventure begins at 6 am when we will collect you from your Colombo hotel. Climb aboard a spacious air-conditioned vehicle as we head directly to our first destination: Sigiriya. This drive will take approximately 4 hours, leading you through picturesque landscapes to this remarkable archaeological site.

Upon arrival in Sigiriya, prepare to explore the remnants of an ancient palace, a monastery and other structures from the 5th century, all perched atop the towering Lion Rock. The impressive claws that guard the base of this monolith will certainly hint at the origin of its name!

We'll ascend to the summit of Lion Rock, which rises to a notable height of 1312 feet (400 meters). After descending, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the nearby restaurants.

Next, we will proceed to Dambulla, where the highlight will be the Cave Temple, also referred to as the Golden Temple. This site holds the status of the largest religious complex in Sri Lanka. As you wander through the intricate grottoes, our guide will share captivating insights about its rich history.

Following this enlightening visit, we will begin our journey back to your hotel in Colombo, with an expected arrival time around 6 pm.
