Your excursion will begin at Copenhagen Central Station, where you'll board a train heading north in the direction of Helsingør, just 1 hour away.
Once we arrive at Helsingør Railway Station, we will make the short 20-minute walk to Kronborg Castle, located on the northeastern tip of the Danish Island of Zealand. The historic fortress dates back to the 15th century, controlling access to the Baltic Sea, and has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Enter the fortified complex via a bridge that crosses the cold Baltic waters, and you'll be met by the sight of the imposing castle that inspired the setting of Shakespeare's famous work, Hamlet. Discover the different legends surrounding the Danish prince who became such a mythical figure in world literature.
Explore the magnificent halls of Kronborg Castle to learn all about the history of the fortress and how its important inhabitants lived over the centuries. After visiting the castle interior, we’ll enjoy a stroll around the outside to see an impressive collection of cannons. The gardens of Kronborg will also offer excellent views over the narrowest point of the Øresund Strait to the coastal Swedish town of Helsingborg.
After the visit to Kronborg Castle and its surroundings, we’ll walk back to the Helsingør train station around 12 pm noon, where we’ll take the train back to Copenhagen. Then, 1 hour later, we’ll arrive at Copenhagen Central Station.
Important Information
This day trip does not include transport or admission to the Kronborg Castle. To travel to Helsingør by train, you will need to buy a 24-hour ticket which costs 130DKK per person. The ticket for Kronborg Castle varies depending on the date visited: it costs 90DKK between September and May, and 140DKK between June and August. Children under 18 years old enter the castle for free.
If you have the Copenhagen Card, your transport by train to Helsingør and entrance to Kronborg Castle are included.

Meet your guide at the Copenhagen Central Station, on the esplanade in front of Tivoli Gardens. Please be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Important Info
The excursion does not include transportation and entrance to Kronborg Castle. To travel by train to Helsingør, you have to buy a ticket valid for 24 hours and the price per person is 130DKK (approximately 18EUR). For its part, the price of the individual ticket to Kronborg Castle varies according to the season. The adult ticket costs 90DKKK (approximately 13EUR) between September and May, while from June to August the price is 140DKKK (approximately 19EUR). In both seasons, admission for children under 18 is free.
