Alternative Free Tour of Cusco
Descrizione
Explore the hidden gems of Cusco on this alternative free tour, designed to lead you through the city’s less-traveled paths, where surprises await at every turn.
Tour Details
The journey commences at the central Plaza de Armas, the historic core of the Inca Empire’s former capital, at the scheduled time.
Here, we will appreciate the stunning exterior of the Cusco Cathedral, a remarkable example of colonial Peruvian architecture. This cathedral, elegantly built over the ruins of an Inca palace, showcases an impressive Renaissance and Baroque façade and holds significant religious and artistic value.
Next, we will view the Church of the Society of Jesus, renowned for its exquisite Baroque design, making it one of the most distinguished houses of worship in the square.
The tour proceeds to the Stone of the 12 and 13 Angles, a standout illustration of Inca engineering. Here, we’ll marvel at the skillful assembly of stone blocks, expertly fitted without mortar. Additionally, we will observe the Andean Trilogy figures—the condor, puma, and snake etched into an ancient wall.
Our exploration continues in the charming colonial district of San Blas, well-known for its vibrant artist community. Within this enchanting area, we will visit a luthier’s workshop and delve into the craftsmanship involved in instrument making.
Concluding our experience, we will stroll along the picturesque Seven Little Lambs Street, celebrated for its charming staircases, traditional facades, and serene ambiance—one of the most photographed spots in Cusco.
This 2-hour free tour culminates at the San Cristóbal viewpoint, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas to cap off your adventure.
