Day Excursion to Machu Picchu

Your journey begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco, leading us directly to the station from which we will embark on our adventure to the celebrated Machu Picchu archaeological site. Prepare to discover one of the Seven Wonders of the World!

As you settle in, enjoy one of the most stunning train rides globally, meandering through awe-inspiring landscapes until we reach our destination. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, a short bus ride of just 30 minutes will take us to the entrance of the Lost City of the Incas.

Once we step into the archaeological area, our guided tour of Machu Picchu will commence. This enchanting site, rich with mystery and remarkable architectural ingenuity, features numerous significant landmarks awaiting your exploration. Throughout the journey, we will visit various historical points, uncovering the sacred symbolism and mythology inherent to Inca civilization.

After this engaging experience, we'll return to Aguas Calientes, leaving you with leisure time to enjoy an authentic Peruvian meal at one of the local restaurants. Depending on train schedules, you may have 2-5 hours to explore the village.

As our adventure comes to a close, we will head back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel, with the return journey lasting between 14 to 18 hours.

Train Options

Your trip to Machu Picchu will be aboard panoramic trains featuring spacious windows and glass ceilings—making the experience akin to flying! Options are available for both economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Departure Stations and Transport

Trains to and from Cusco may depart from Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1.5 hours from Cusco), based on availability.

Be advised that during the rainy season (December to March), the Poroy station is not operational, necessitating bus travel to Ollantaytambo.

Upon confirming your booking, you will receive an email detailing the exact pickup time from your hotel and the train station location, along with the itinerary, which will be verified based on your Machu Picchu entrance tickets.

The transfer duration will depend on the chosen station. The travel time from Poroy to Aguas Calientes is approximately 4 hours, while from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, it is around 1.5 hours.

Pickup Details

Pickup occurs between 4 am and 6 am from accommodations located in the historic center of Cusco. For those staying outside the city center, we will rendezvous at the Cathedral's entrance in Plaza de Armas. The precise pickup time will be communicated in the days prior to the excursion, subject to train availability.

Important Information

Should the activity be canceled due to strikes or adverse weather, you will be offered an alternative date. If rescheduling is impractical, a full refund of the tour price will be provided.

Excursion with Admission Tickets

This tour does not include tickets to enter the archaeological site; these must be procured independently. Please be mindful of the following schedules and routes to ensure a seamless trip in accordance with official procedures:
