Tour of the South Valley of Cusco: Tipón, Pikillaqta & Andahuaylillas
At the arranged time, we will meet you at your hotel and depart from the historic heart of Cusco towards the South Valley.
As we traverse the breathtaking landscapes from Quispicanchis to Tipón, we will arrive at our first destination - a remarkable Incan archaeological site. During our guided tour, we will delve into the significance of water worship practiced here, shedding light on its pivotal role in the Incan spiritual and cultural identity.
Our exploration continues as we visit Pikillacta, another significant archaeological location that predates the Incas, tracing back to the 15th century.
Finally, we will stop at Andahuaylillas, a charming traditional village where we will take a stroll through its streets and main square. We will also visit its picturesque chapel, renowned as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas due to the stunning artwork that adorns its ceiling and walls.
Following our tour of this magnificent chapel, you will have approximately 30 minutes of leisure time in Saylla to savor a local treat or beverage. Afterward, we will return to Cusco, dropping you off near Plaza de Armas around 6.5 hours after the start of the tour.
