Tour Overview

We will convene at the designated meeting point on Route de Périgueux in Les Eyzies, where our guided journey through the Grotte du Grand Roc will commence. Prepare to immerse yourself in an underground realm that has been intact for millennia, showcasing stunning natural beauty and geological wonders.

Our expedition kicks off with a panoramic view of the Vézère Valley, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From this remarkable lookout spot, discovered in April 1924, you will appreciate the area's historical relevance before we make our descent, navigating 75 steps down into the cavern. An interesting tidbit: the temperature within the caves consistently hovers around 16° C (60° F) throughout the year!

Upon entering the cave, we will be enveloped by an astonishing exhibition of nature's artistry. The walls and ceilings are embellished with extraordinary rock formations, including stalactites and stalagmites. The highlight of our journey will be the rare helictite formations, jagged limestone towers that we will learn about in detail from our knowledgeable guide.

Our underground exploration will last approximately 40 minutes, concluding at the entrance of the cave.
