Valley of the Kings and Queens, Colossus & Hatshepsut Tour

On this day, we will explore the renowned necropolis of ancient Thebes, home to the illustrious tombs of historical figures including pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Ramses III, as well as queens like Nefertari.

Activity Details

After picking you up from your hotel, boat, or train station first thing in the morning, we will depart from the city center, heading toward the east bank, where the famed necropolis awaits.

Our journey begins at the Valley of the Kings, an expansive burial ground that contains over 60 rock-hewn tombs. Thutmose I was the first king interred here, and it later became the final resting place for notable rulers such as Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Set I. During our visit, we will explore some of the most remarkable tombs, and you will have the option to independently enter the Tomb of Tutankhamun if desired.

Next, we will make our way to the Valley of the Queens, where the resting places of royal wives and princesses from the New Kingdom are located. Among the notable sites you can visit is the tomb of Nefertari, Ramses II's beloved wife (please note that the entry fee for this particular tomb is not included).

Continuing our exploration, we will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to Egypt's only extended-reigning female pharaoh. This unique temple, designed by the architect Sennenmut, features an intriguing combination of rock-carved elements and terrace levels.

Upon returning to Luxor, our final stop will be at the Colossi of Memnon, two monumental stone statues that represent Pharaoh Amenhotep III, gazing serenely out over the Nile and the morning sun.

The tour concludes as we return you to the initial pickup location.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup and drop-off exclusively at hotels and boats located on the eastern banks (right side) of the River Nile in Luxor. You will be dropped off at the same location after the tour.

For those whose accommodations are on the western banks (left side) of the River Nile, a meeting point on the eastern side will be arranged with you.
