Set off on an adventure to discover the vibrant culture of Morocco as you traverse its stunning landscapes and indulge in its culinary delights on this hiking journey through the Atlas Mountains.

Activity Details

Your expedition will commence with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakesh at the scheduled time. We will then proceed on a hiking trek through the Atlas Mountains, culminating in a visit to a local Moroccan family's home where a delightful lunch awaits. Prepare to immerse yourself in the captivating vistas and flavors of Morocco!

Our first stop will be Lalla Takerhoust, a quaint village renowned for its remarkable man-made lake nestled in the Atlas Mountains. Here, we will soak in the breathtaking scenery while enjoying a refreshing mint tea.

Next, we will head towards Azrou, one of the earliest regions in the Maghreb settled by humans. This area offers a glimpse into the Berber culture, showcasing the rich history and customs preserved by the local community.

Our journey will continue with a wholesome breakfast at a women's cooperative, where we will relish bread accompanied by honey, peanut butter, and traditional Moroccan tea. This will undoubtedly be a delightful experience!

Rejuvenated, we'll embark on a thorough exploration of the scenic beauty of the Atlas Mountains during our comprehensive hiking route. We'll ascend to an impressive altitude of 6,561 ft (2000 m) through picturesque landscapes, rivers, and villages that will leave you spellbound.

Following a hike of approximately 1.5 hours, we'll visit a local family, who will graciously host us in their home for a traditional meal. Here, we will savor appetizers, a main course, and a dessert, while learning about the key ingredients that define the country's cherished dishes.

During this mealtime, we will also have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the family members and gain deeper insights into their culture.

This enriching experience will conclude with our return journey, and after a total of 9 hours, we will bid farewell at our starting location.
