Expedition to Etna and Taormina

Departing from Messina, you'll embark on a comfortable, air-conditioned bus for a journey lasting approximately an hour and a half to reach Etna, celebrated for hosting the largest active volcano in Europe, which towers at 3,000 meters.

Upon arrival at the Sapienza refuge, we'll delve into the narrative of the volcano’s recent eruptions. You will have the opportunity to explore the primary craters influenced by the powerful eruption of 1892. If you wish, you can ascend to an elevation of 2500 meters via a cable car departing from the refuge (the cable car is not included in the tour; it costs €30).

Afterwards, we will continue our journey toward Taormina, located seventy kilometers from Etna. Within this ancient city filled with Roman remnants, we will stroll down Umberto Street, as our guide enlightens us with stories about Taormina, including its key churches and landmarks. Additionally, we will provide recommendations for the finest dining and gelato spots, allowing you to indulge in the exquisite Sicilian culinary experience.

Finally, we will return on the same bus to Messina, concluding our tour at the original meeting point.

Cruise Guests

This tour is available for passengers arriving on cruises. When you book, please provide the name of your vessel. We will be ready to greet you in the disembarkation area half an hour after the ship docks.

Participant Requirements

From the 17th of November to the 31st of March, this tour will proceed only if there are at least 8 participants. If this criteria isn't met, alternative options will be presented.
