At 10 am, your journey begins with a pickup at your hotel in Moyobamba. We'll then proceed to Morro de Calzada to kickstart an exhilarating hiking experience.
Upon reaching our destination, we will set off along one of the most renowned natural areas in the Alto Mayo. Our ascent of over 500 meters up Morro de Calzada will be accompanied by informative discussions about the unique features of the cloud forest in the high jungle, home to various ecosystems.
Our first stop will be the Interpretation Center, where we will delve into the fascinating characteristics of local wildlife and plants through engaging visuals and infographics. Keep an eye out for endemic species such as the pichico monkey, titi monkey, and barn owl.
Continuing our hike, we'll explore enduring legends from Alto Mayo, like the captivating tale of the stone man, which is sure to intrigue!
As we approach the end of our trek, we will visit the Silla del Curaca viewpoint and the Allcamayo waterfall, where there will be an opportunity to refresh in the cool waters. We will also enjoy a satisfying lunch featuring a traditional Peruvian dish.
