Description

Your adventure begins at the reception area of the Sant Benet de Bages Monastery, where you will receive your audio guide to commence your exploration. This journey will cover the deeply rooted history of this monastic site, tracing back to its establishment dedicated to Saint Benedict.

Founded around the year 950, the monastery faced abandonment by the monks, leading to a lengthy period of decline until its restoration in the 20th century. This revival was championed by the artist Ramon Casas, who took residence in the monastery, alongside architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, who oversaw its restoration.

Your audio guide will lead you through the monks' cells, the wine cellar, and the remarkable cloister, where you can admire the exquisite original capitals adorning the columns.

Additionally, you will enter the church of this Benedictine establishment, gaining insights into the daily life within a medieval monastery. The series of audiovisual presentations will further illuminate the monastery's operations and significance.
