Your journey begins early at 5:30 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Praia and transport you to the Santiago island port. At this location, you will need to show your ferry ticket to embark on the journey to the island of Maio, the flattest and one of the most enchanting islands in Cape Verde.

Following a scenic 2-hour ferry ride, we will dock at Porto Inglês, situated in the southern part of Maio Island. Upon arrival, our first stop will be the salt mines interpretation center. Here, we will explore the significant role of the salt trade in the island's development, as Maio is the sixth largest among the ten islands of the Cape Verde archipelago.

Next, we will weave through the towns of Morro, Calheta, and Morrinho, where local crafts and picturesque views await. The striking dunes of Morrinho, reminiscent of the Sahara's sand formations, provide an ideal backdrop for memorable photos!

Continuing our adventure, we will reach the village of Pedro Vaz for a traditional Cape Verdean lunch featuring various local delicacies. Post-lunch, we will proceed to Vila do Maio, the capital of the island, to explore the historic San José fortress and the church dedicated to Our Lady of Light.

Our excursion will wrap up with a visit to Bitchirotcha Beach, the most popular beach on Maio, before heading back to the Porto Inglês dock for our return ferry to Santiago. After arriving at the port, we will take you back to your hotel in Praia, with expected arrival at 7:30 pm.
