Embark on an enchanting excursion to Llachon from Puno, where you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the Peruvian Altiplano over the course of either one or two days. In this vibrant Quechua-speaking community, local families will warmly welcome you and invite you to engage in their customs, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

One-Day Experience

Your journey begins when we pick you up from your accommodation in Puno to set out on an adventure towards the heart of Lake Titicaca. Prepare yourself for an extraordinary day!

Upon arrival at the lake, you’ll board a speedboat to explore the renowned Uros islands, interacting with the local residents and gaining insight into their way of life. Did you know these floating islands are crafted from the typha plant?

Next, we’ll navigate towards the Llachon community, where families will greet us with traditional kantu necklaces and serve a refreshing muña infusion. Here, you’ll witness daily activities encompassing weaving, agriculture, and fishing, while also learning about local traditional garments and savoring the beauty of the lake's pristine beaches.

After enjoying a substantial lunch with a local family, we’ll head back to Puno, completing this memorable 8-hour journey with farewell greetings.

Two-Day Experience

If time allows, consider a more immersive 2-day experience in Llachon, which includes an overnight stay. Rather than a speedboat, we’ll use an off-road vehicle for a scenic 1 hour and 45-minute ride.

Upon settling into local accommodations, you'll be greeted by the community and shown the ancient practices involved in textile production, from gathering wool to using natural dyes, alongside insights about traditional attire. You’ll also engage in community agriculture and fishing techniques, learning firsthand about life on the lake.

After a delightful home-cooked lunch, feel free to explore the lake’s shores or hike to a viewpoint for stunning vistas of Lake Titicaca and the nearby islands of Taquile and Amantani. Later in the day, you may help care for the cattle within the community.

In the evening, the community will invite you to don traditional clothing, giving you a unique chance to experience their customs up close. Later, gather around a campfire to enjoy music and a soothing herbal infusion.

The following morning, you will enjoy a typical breakfast before we begin our return journey to Puno, where we will bid farewell around 10 am.

Accommodation During the Tour

The 2-day itinerary includes one night's stay at local homes in Llachon. The listed price applies per person for those sharing a double room. Note that the bathroom facilities are communal.

Child Policy

Children aged 3 to 9 are eligible for a discounted rate but must share a room with an adult. Only one child per double room is permitted. Kids under 3 travel free if they share a bed with an adult, though they cannot occupy a seat in the vehicle.

Pickup Information

This tour offers pickup from hotels situated in central Puno. If your accommodation is outside this area, please make your way to the meeting point located at the Plaza de Armas in Puno.
