Yacuma Pampas 3 Day Trip

More than half of Bolivia is blanketed by the Amazon rainforest, a remarkable ecosystem waiting to be explored. Dive into this rich environment with a 3-day journey through the enchanting Pampas del Yacuma, beginning in Rurrenabaque.

Description

Day 1

Your adventure starts in the morning with a gathering in Rurrenabaque, followed by a scenic drive to the charming town of Santa Rosa de Yacuma. As we travel in a 4x4 vehicle, keep an eye out for diverse local wildlife, including anteaters, sloths, and vibrant toucans.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a boat across the Yacuma River, bringing us to our lodging. Here, guests are greeted with a delightful introduction to Bolivian cuisine.

In the afternoon, we'll venture into the nearby areas to encounter the local fauna, particularly the playful capuchin monkeys that call this region home. As the day winds down, we’ll head to a viewpoint offering breathtaking vistas of the sunset over the stunning Pampas del Yacuma.

After dining, a nighttime boat excursion awaits, where we will explore the waters looking for the fascinating nocturnal wildlife, including alligators.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we will set off on the Yacuma River. While cruising, be prepared to spot a variety of amazing creatures that share this habitat: capybaras, alligators, lizards, turtles, monkeys, exotic birds, and even river dolphins.

Following our river expedition, we’ll return to the eco-lodge for a meal and some much-needed relaxation. Given suitable weather, we’ll head back to the river for an opportunity to swim with dolphins and see them up close.

As the sun sets, enjoy a serene dinner before retiring for the night at the lodge.

Day 3

We’ll rise before dawn to witness the stunning sunrise over the Pampas del Yacuma—an experience that will linger in your memory!

Following breakfast, we will embark on a guided exploration of the area, soaking in the sounds of the jungle awakening, while on the lookout for fearsome anacondas.

After our hike, we will return to the eco-lodge for lunch and finalize our packing before making our way back to Rurrenabaque, with an expected arrival in the mid-afternoon.
