Skaftafell Ice Cave Tour & Glacier Hike
Descrizione
Step into a realm where ice reigns supreme: explore the enchanting blue ice cave of Iceland and embark on a hike across the vast expanse of the Vatnajökull Glacier. An experience to remember awaits you!
Glacier Hike & Ice Cave Exploration
On the day of your adventure, you will find your guide at the Skaftafell base, where you will be equipped with the necessary specialized gear for your safety and enjoyment. After donning your helmet, harness, ice pick, and crampons, the journey begins as you set forth through Skaftafell National Park towards the Vatnajökull Glacier.
As the largest glacier in Iceland and the biggest in Europe beyond the Arctic Circle, hiking on its surface is a remarkable experience. Traverse the rugged terrain, taking in the diverse ice formations that have developed due to the volcanic activity below and the glacier's continuous movement.
Once you've savored the thrill of traversing the glacier, prepare to be astounded by the breathtaking beauty of the blue ice cave. Nestled beneath the glacier, the combination of pressure and minimal air results in vividly colored icy walls.
Such ice caves are rare natural wonders, shaped under extraordinary circumstances. You'll have ample opportunity to explore this mesmerizing cave and immerse yourself in the enchantment of its unparalleled landscape.
Your excursion concludes as you return to the starting point.
