Day Trip to La Quiaca & Yavi

Between 8:30 and 9 am, our adventure begins as we meet at your hotel in Tilcara. From there, we'll travel north towards Yavi. The journey, lasting approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, offers captivating views of the remarkable mountain ranges characterizing the Quebrada de Humahuaca.

Upon arrival in Yavi, a guided tour awaits you. Explore the Chapel of San Francisco, admire the details of the Casa Marqués del Valle de Tojo, and discover the ancient water mill among other landmarks. Expect to learn intriguing stories about each site we visit.

Next, we will ascend the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos, where you will uncover the legend connected to this hill's name, which translates to Eight Brothers Hill. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking views of the striking red tones of the Laguna Colorada. Remember to bring your camera to capture these moments!

While exploring the mountain, you'll also encounter various petroglyphs, remnants from a long-lost era depicting daily life from centuries past. Afterward, you'll have an hour of free time in Yavi for lunch before continuing our day’s adventure.

Once we've gathered again post-lunch, our next stop is the vibrant city of La Quiaca, where we'll visit the International Bridge of Villazon. This historic site serves as a crucial border crossing between Argentina and Bolivia, and we'll delve into its significance during our time there.

As our day concludes, we will return you to your hotel in Tilcara, with an expected drop-off time between 5:30 and 6 pm.
