Tour Overview

Day 1: Tozeur - Douz - Sahara

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Tozeur, embarking on a remarkable exploration of the Sahara Desert. Prepare to encounter rolling sand dunes, stunning natural scenery, and mesmerizing sunsets!

Riding in an off-roading jeep, we will travel towards the ancient city of Chebika, nestled by the As Sabikah Oasis. After a scenic 45-minute journey, discover impressive mountain ridges, deep canyons, and streams that nourish a distinct palm grove, offering an unexpected side of the desert.

After approximately one hour in Chebika, we will move on to Tamerza, where a stunning waterfall awaits to captivate your senses. Our next destination will be the Mides canyons, an ideal spot for breathtaking views.

A stop for a delicious traditional meal featuring soup, salad, couscous, and fruit will follow, providing a needed respite. Energized, we will continue for 1.5 hours to reach Chott El Djerid, a salt lake renowned as one of Tunisia's most enchanting locations. Be sure to capture this moment with a photograph!

To conclude the day's journey, we will explore the Douz Desert, the entryway to the Sahara, where we can stroll across the dunes as the sun sets, casting colorful hues across the sand. You may choose to indulge in thrilling activities like sandboarding or camel riding, or simply unwind with a cup of tea while soaking in the beautiful dune landscape.

As night falls, we will arrive at the Bedouin camp for some rest and a delightful dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Sahara - Douz - Tozeur

Awaken early to enjoy breakfast at the camp while witnessing the sunrise over the Sahara desert, an unforgettable experience!

On the second day, we will continue exploring other areas of Douz aboard the jeep, revisiting sites we missed the prior day. After an hour's drive, a stop in Kebili will allow for a substantial lunch. We'll also take a brief 30-minute visit to Souk Lahad, where you can learn about the unique irrigation system that draws water from beneath the earth. This fascinating structure will surely impress!

Additionally, for those interested, a 45-minute quad bike tour through the desert dunes can be arranged on the day of the activity, providing a memorable thrill amidst the Sahara's terrain.

After this immersive experience, our return to your hotel in Tozeur is planned for 3 pm.

Accommodation Details

This tour includes an overnight stay at Dune Insolite, featuring approximately 10 haima tents that are equipped with double beds and electricity. Shared bathroom facilities with showers and toilets are also available.

The specified price is based on double occupancy within a haima. You will not need to share your tent with strangers, as we provide options for single, double, triple, and family tents.
