Embark on a day excursion from Tunja to the breathtaking Ocetá moor, recognized as one of Boyacá’s most remarkable treasures, nestled inland in Colombia!

Reasons to Explore the Boyacá Region

Our journey starts with a pickup from your hotel in Tunja at the arranged hour, followed by a northeast drive towards one of the region's most exquisite landscapes in Boyacá.

After approximately 2.5 hours, we will arrive at Mongui. Here, we'll commence our hiking adventure towards the acclaimed Ocetá Moor, celebrated as the world's most picturesque moor. The area’s breathtaking beauty is largely due to the extensive fields of frailejones, a native plant which creates a distinctly enchanting environment.

The hike to Ocetá Moor can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours, contingent upon the group's walking pace. During this trek, we'll follow an ecological trail that reveals the region’s rich natural wonders. Along the way, we will have the chance to observe and discuss diverse species of flora and fauna native to this thriving ecosystem.

Our path will eventually lead us back to Mongui, where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved traditional dish comprising an appetizer, a main course featuring either fish or meat from Boyacá, and a revitalizing drink.

Once satisfied, we'll return you to your hotel, concluding the day about 10 hours after our initial pickup.
