Xalapa & Coatepec Day Trip

Your adventure begins at 8:30 am with a pick-up from your Veracruz hotel, followed by a scenic drive northward to Xalapa, the capital of the State of Veracruz.

Your first stop will be the El Lencero Museum, a site steeped in history, known to have housed a soldier of Hernán Cortés and served as a waystation for travelers. Notably, this location was also the home of Antonio López de Santa Anna, a former president of Mexico.

Within the museum, you will encounter period furniture, personal artifacts of the past president, and the beautiful gardens, alongside the coffee plantations that surround El Lencero. After this enriching experience, we will proceed to the center of Xalapa for further exploration.

Visits to significant landmarks will include the Government Palace, the stunning Bishop Guízar and Valencia Cathedral, and the University campus. Additionally, the trip includes a stop at the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology, home to an impressive collection of artifacts from notable pre-Hispanic cultures including the Olmec, Totonaca, and Huasteca.

Following our historical exploration, we will continue to Coatepec, recognized as Mexico's 'magical town'. The 'magic' reference is particularly tied to one significant aspect of this locale: coffee.

You will tour the Interactive Coffee Museum, where the intricate process and cultural significance of coffee will be unveiled. This includes a delightful opportunity to sample various types of coffee produced in Coatepec.

We'll then begin our return trip to Veracruz by 6:30 pm, with an estimated arrival time back at your hotel around 8 pm.
