Embark on a journey to experience a cornerstone of Colombian cuisine with the Panela Tour originating from Manizales. Departing the city, we'll make our way to the lush sugar cane fields while uncovering the process behind this wholesome product.

Our adventure begins at 8 am as we gather at your accommodation in Manizales, followed by a scenic drive lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to an agricultural estate.

Upon arrival, we will explore the sugar cane fields, where panela, a vital element of Colombian gastronomy, is cultivated. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to visit a traditional trapiche, a mill that continues to play a crucial role in the production of this natural sweetener.

This ingredient is prevalent in many traditional Colombian treats and beverages, such as aguapanela, guarapo, and chicha, serving as a natural alternative to sugar. We will delve into the entire production journey, from growing the sugar cane to transforming the juice into solid panela.

Once our exploration of the sugar cane fields concludes, we will venture to a tranquil natural area for a leisurely walk. Following this, you’ll have the freedom to enjoy lunch and explore the reserve at your own pace before we return to Manizales.

We aim to have you back at your hotel by around 4 pm.
