Our day begins at 8 am, when we will gather at your hotel in Manizales and embark on a journey to a nearby agricultural farm, which is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from the city.

Upon arrival, a tour of the sugar cane plantations awaits, where we will delve into the harvest of panela, a crucial element in Colombian cuisine. Additionally, we’ll have the opportunity to visit a trapiche, a traditional mill that is still in operation for producing this sweetener.

Panela plays a significant role in various Colombian desserts and beverages, including aguapanela, guarapo, and chicha, serving as an alternative to sugar. We’ll gain insights into the panela-making process, covering everything from its cultivation to the methods of solidifying the sugar cane juice.

After touring the plantations, we will proceed to a natural area for a relaxing stroll. Following this, you will have some time to enjoy lunch and wander the reserve at your own pace before we head back to Manizales.

We plan to return you to your hotel by 4 pm.
