We'll convene at the designated hour in the Parque Principal de Salento, from where our adventure begins. A rugged vehicle will take us to the Wax Palm Sanctuary of Tochecito, located in the beautiful Eje Cafetero of Colombia, one of the rare habitats for the national tree of Colombia.

The tour will kick off with intriguing insights into the wax palm tree, including its impressive lifespan of over two centuries. This endangered species stands out for its towering height and distinctive trunk. While exploring, we will have the opportunity to visit Finca Leona or Finca Carbonera.

Following our exploration, we will savor a delightful lunch featuring traditional dishes like sancocho or ajiaco. After the meal, you can choose to return to Salento in our vehicle or embark on a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) hike, depending on the weather and the preferences of the group.

The return to our initial meeting spot in Salento is anticipated to occur approximately 8 to 10 hours after departure.
