Exploration of Italian Heritage

We will convene at Praça das Etnias at the designated time, and there we will hop aboard a jardineira, a delightful traditional Brazilian vehicle. Our exploration will begin with insights into the traditions and customs that Italian immigrants brought over from Europe and how these have been preserved through the years.

Our initial destination will be the Casa Centenária, a historic wooden house that highlights significant moments from the Italian immigrant experience. This introduction to their culture will lead us to Ervateira Marcon, a local resident who will share with us the art of preparing mate herb.

Next, we will visit the Fioreze Museum, where we will meet its owner, Mr. Nelson Fioreze, who will unveil his remarkable collection of antique items, promising to captivate us with their stories.

To conclude our tour themed around Italian immigration in Gramado, we will indulge in a delightful snack at Caffé Della Nonna, hosted by the Foss family. Here, we will savor traditional delicacies like homemade bread, butter, fruit preserves, and cheese, along with beverages such as coffee, tea, juices, and wine. A true culinary treat!

To enrich this experience, we will enjoy the afternoon snack accompanied by live traditional music from the area, creating an authentic ambiance.

As our adventure comes to a close, we will return to our original meeting spot, bidding farewell four hours after we began our journey.
