Hiking Adventure in Paul Valley

The day begins at 9 am when we'll collect you from your accommodation in Ribeira Grande. From there, a comfortable minibus will transport us to Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park. Are you ready to immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery of the island of Santo Antão?

Throughout the hike, we will navigate the renowned Paul Valley, a lush oasis alive with a variety of vegetation flourishing on the walls of the Cova de Paul crater. The impressive caldera spans an entire kilometer in diameter, making it the largest crater in the archipelago. Over approximately three hours, we will walk along the rim of this impressive crater, taking in the vistas of the agricultural lands below.

We will pause along the way to soak in the breathtaking panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean and the unique geological formations prevalent in this region of Cape Verde. Gradually winding down the mountain path, we will reach the lower sections of the natural park, showcasing vineyards and fields of sugar cane, bananas, mangoes, avocados, and coconuts. This spectacular view marks the delightful conclusion of our hiking adventure through this amazing valley!

As a perfect finish to our excursion, we will visit a rum distillery to sample the renowned grogue, the island’s traditional rum. The tour will wrap up around 2 pm as we return to your hotel.
