Guided Tour of the Kasbah in Algiers

The adventure begins by gathering next to the statue of Bologhine Ben Ziri, the esteemed founder of the Amazigh dynasty of the Ziris. From this point, we ascend towards the upper region of the Kasbah of Algiers, a captivating stronghold recognized as a World Heritage Site.

As we navigate the intricate alleys of this coastal district along the Mediterranean Sea, the traditional Arab homes will catch our eye. Our path will also lead us past several shops showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of Algeria.

Continuing through the Kasbah, we will pause at the Ketchaoua mosque, taking in the intricate features of its stunning facade. The vibrant tiles adorning the entrance, adorned in a kaleidoscope of purple, green, and blue, will surely captivate your senses.

Our route then takes us into the lower section of the kasbah, where we’ll enter the magnificent Palace of Rais. Here, we’ll uncover the intriguing background for its alternate name, Bastion 23.
