Originally constructed as a city hall in the 17th century amidst the Dutch Golden Age, it transitioned to a royal residence in the early 19th century when Louis Napoleon Bonaparte ascended the throne. Today, it serves as a venue for numerous receptions and official gatherings hosted by the King of the Netherlands.

Among the most notable areas is the Burgerzaal or Citizens' Hall, celebrated for its stunning chandeliers. Equally impressive is the Throne Room, adorned with opulent decor where curtains, chandeliers, carpet, and tapestries create a harmonious setting.
In addition to the Throne Room, be sure to visit the Scabini Room, where historical meetings of the scabini, or justice administrators, once took place. This space is decorated with statues representing Justice, Time, and War.
Another highlight within the palace is the Courtroom, known for its polished marble walls, where significant legal decisions were made.

Admission for Youth
Entry is complimentary for individuals under 18 years, though they must acquire a ticket at the box office. In addition, they have the option to rent an audio guide for 5 EUR each.

This voucher is not a valid entry ticket. On the day chosen in your reservation, you will need to go to the entrance of the Royal Palace, located at the following address: Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 147, 1012 RJ Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Audio Guide and Tickets
You can download the audio guide and ticket by completing the following steps:
- Download the free WeGoTrip app from the App Store or Google Play, or at the following link.
- Open the “My Reservations” tab in the WeGoTrip app.
- Enter your reservation number to download the audio guide and ticket. You will also receive your reservation number by email. It will always begin with two "AA" followed by the Civitatis reservation number. For example, if your Civitatis reservation number is 1234567, your access code will be AA1234567.
Don't forget to bring your own headphones. We also recommend charging your phone in advance and bringing an external battery.

Under 18
Children under 18 can enter the palace free of charge, but must get their ticket at the ticket office. If they want, they can also rent an audio guide for 5EUR per person.
