Argentino Lake Off-Roading Tour

On this off-roading tour from El Calafate, we will discover cave paintings along the shores of Argentino Lake and have lunch in a cave.

Activity Details

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate. After preparing, we will board the off-roading vehicle and head east along the shores of Argentino Lake.

During the journey, we will observe the contrast between the arid Patagonian steppe and the blue lake. We will identify native flowers and hardy shrubs of the region.

Our first stop will be the Mirador del Acantilado viewpoint, providing a view of Argentino Lake and the Andes Mountain Range. Here, we will exit the vehicle to take photos and appreciate the area.

Next, we will proceed to an archaeological site featuring ancient cave paintings. We will walk through the caves surrounding the lake to examine the rock markings, observing human figures, hunting scenes, and abstract symbols that narrate the history of its early inhabitants.

After this exploration, we will have lunch at a restaurant inside a cave, featuring a menu of pumpkin soup, lamb casserole served on rustic bread, and chocolate and red fruit mousse for dessert, accompanied by wine and juices.

Finally, we will conclude the tour and drop you off at your hotel 3 hours after the initial pickup.
