2-Day Journey to Yamparáez

Day 1

Your adventure begins at 9 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Sucre and embark on a scenic 1-hour drive to the village of Yamparáez. This charming town, predominantly inhabited by individuals of Quechua heritage, is known for its colorful traditional attire and the preservation of the cultural practices of the Yampara Indigenous community.

Upon arrival in Yamparáez, you will gain insights into the daily life centered around agriculture and the intricate process of producing handwoven textiles. A warm welcome awaits you from Daysi, a local resident, who will guide you through her family's routine and share fascinating stories about their way of life.

Join in as we assist in preparing a traditional lunch, followed by enjoying a meal together that features a starter, main dish, and a refreshing beverage. Afterward, we’ll embark on a scenic walk through the surrounding hills of Yamparáez, before returning to the family home for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2

Rise and shine! After a hearty breakfast, we will dedicate the morning to exploring some of the community's cherished traditions, focusing on textile arts and music. Discover how residents of Yamparáez create musical instruments from reeds and other natural resources, and enjoy the captivating sounds they produce. Following this cultural experience, we will gather for lunch before making our way back to Sucre. Expect to arrive at your hotel by approximately 3:30 pm.
