Experience a day excursion from Madrid to Ávila and Segovia, two iconic cities nestled in the heart of Castile and León. Witness stunning medieval artworks and one of the world's most renowned Roman aqueducts.

Day Trip to Segovia & Ávila

Our journey commences at a designated meeting point in Madrid, from where we will set off towards the north, heading into the beautiful region of Castile. Both Segovia and Ávila, recognized as World Heritage Sites, transport you through different eras, from Roman antiquity to the brilliance of the Middle Ages.

Upon reaching Segovia, you will be greeted by the impressive Roman aqueduct, stretching an impressive 10 miles (16 km) and standing resilient for more than two millennia. Take a leisurely walk through the historic Jewish quarter and admire the Segovia Cathedral, often referred to as the "Dama de las Catedrales Españolas" or Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals.

Next, discover the Alcázar of Segovia, a fortress that once served as a royal residence for various monarchs of Castile. It is believed that Disney was inspired by this castle for the design of Snow White’s iconic dwelling.

Continuing on to Ávila, birthplace of Saint Teresa of Ávila, you will find the most ancient and well-preserved city walls in Spain.

As we wander through Ávila's historic town, uncover its Gothic palaces, Romanesque churches, and the magnificent fortified cathedral. Depending on your chosen package, you may have the chance to walk along the cathedral's walls or visit sites like the Basílica de San Vicente or the Convento de Santa Teresa.

After a full day of exploration, reflecting on the rich culture and architecture for approximately 9 hours, we will commence our return to Madrid.

Options for the Day Trip

You can select from various options during the booking process:

• Day trip without tickets: Enjoy a guided tour lasting one hour in each city, followed by free time for personal exploration.
• Day trip with access to the Walls of Ávila: While this option does not include a guide for either city, entry to the Walls of Ávila is covered.
• Day trip with access to the Walls of Ávila and the Alcázar of Segovia: This includes guided tours in both cities alongside admission to the Walls of Ávila and the Alcázar of Segovia.
• Day trip with Walls and Alcázar access + lunch: This adds a traditional Segovian meal featuring beans from La Granja, roast suckling pig, and the famous Segovian punch cake, inclusive of bread, water, and wine.
• Day trip with tickets: The most comprehensive option, it covers guides in both cities and skip-the-line access to the Segovia Cathedral, the Alcázar of Segovia, as well as the Basílica of San Vicente and Convento de Santa Teresa.
