Ticket to the MAPFRE Foundation in Madrid

Purchasing a ticket for the MAPFRE Foundation provides access to a remarkable venue that is central to Madrid's cultural narrative, merging visual arts and photography. The exhibits prominently showcase works from notable 19th and 20th-century artists, including Van Gogh, Renoir, and Picasso.

Did you know that the Sala Recoletos occupies a distinctive building? Constructed by the architect Agustin Ortiz de Villajos for the Duchess of Medina de las Torres, this elegant structure is situated near the Paseo del Prado. It truly represents the cultural heart of Madrid!

Following extensive renovations, the exhibition space now spans approximately 1,000 square meters, organized into three rooms dedicated to art exhibitions.

Opening Hours

The MAPFRE Foundation in Madrid operates during these hours:

• Monday: 2 pm - 8 pm. Entry times are available at 2 pm, 3:30 pm, 5 pm, and 6:30 pm.
• Tuesday to Saturday: 11 am - 8 pm. Entry slots are at 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2 pm, 3:30 pm, 5 pm, and 6:30 pm.
• Sundays and public holidays: 11 am - 7 pm. Access times are at 11 am, 1:30 pm, 3 pm, 4:30 pm, and 6 pm.

While a specific time is selected at booking, you have the flexibility to visit the foundation at any point during the operating hours on your chosen day. Note that schedules can change due to special events or holiday circumstances, such as Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Current Temporary Exhibitions

From February 19 to May 17, 2026, the following exhibitions will be on display:

• Anders Zorn: Traveling the World, Remembering the Land. This exhibit traces Zorn's journey from his early watercolor works through his time in England and Paris, influenced by Impressionism, to his travels in the United States and back to Mora, highlighting daily life in Sweden, alongside his Spanish artistic endeavors and his connection with Joaquín Sorolla.
• Helen Levitt: Featuring nearly two hundred pieces organized into nine sections, this exhibition offers a thorough exploration of her career from early photographs to cinematic works, spotlighting her unique perspective as a pioneering figure in urban photography characterized by a strong social consciousness.
