Created by the esteemed design firm Foster and Partners, the museum’s architecture draws inspiration from the soaring wings of a falcon, a creature that holds significant meaning in Emirati culture. The structure comprises five sleek towers that not only serve as a striking visual element but also function as thermal chimneys, facilitating passive cooling of the interior spaces. This innovative design pays homage to traditional badgirs found in Gulf architecture.
Your access to the Zayed National Museum grants you entry to its six galleries arranged in chronological order. Here, you will delve into topics ranging from the earliest settlements in the region to the establishment of the modern nation under the guidance of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
As you navigate through climate-controlled display cases, immersive installations, and interactive exhibits, you will encounter archaeological artifacts, manuscripts, and ethnographic items that reflect the social, economic, and environmental shifts over time. Opening Hours
The Zayed National Museum welcomes visitors during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am to 8:30 pm
Please note that the last admission is allowed one hour prior to closing.

Opening Hours
The Zayed National Museum is open at the following times:
- Monday to Friday: from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm
Final admission is 1 hour before closing.

Security Check
- Please note that you and your belongings will be inspected before entry
- You must remove metal objects, jackets, belts, etc., for X-ray screening
- Large bags (over 55 x 38 x 20 cm) are not allowed and must be stored in the cloakroom or left outside the venue
- Wheelchairs, strollers, and medical devices will also be inspected
- Additional random checks may be carried out

- Weapons, hazardous materials, alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances
- Large bags, suitcases, sports equipment, drones, scooters, etc
- Food, drinks, and liquids (including bottled water inside the galleries)
- Confetti, balloons, paint, laser pointers, and noisy devices
- Animals (except certified assistance dogs)
Inside the Exhibition Galleries
- Food, drinks, chewing gum, large bags, and suitcases are not allowed
- Pens, paints, and liquids are not permitted
- Tripods, selfie sticks, flash, and professional photography without authorization are not allowed
- Baby feeding is only permitted in designated areas
Prohibited Activities
- Smoking (except in designated areas)
- Running, climbing, behaving loudly, or touching the artworks
- Maintain at least an arm’s-length distance from the exhibits
- Eating, drinking, or sitting on the floor or on barriers in the galleries
- Leaving belongings unattended
Young Children
- Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or legal guardian
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all instructions given by security staff
- Prohibited items will be retained and returned upon exit after identification
- Illegal items will be reported to the police
- Failure to comply with the rules may result in denied entry
