Trunyan Day Trip

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Bali at the scheduled time, leading us to Ulundanu, where we will board a boat to navigate through Lake Batur.

We'll spend approximately 2 hours afloat, taking in the exotic vistas that characterize this renowned lagoon. Afterward, we'll reach the village of Trunyan, often referred to as Skull Island. Here, you'll uncover the origins of this nickname.

This traditional Balinese settlement is notable for its practice of not burying the dead, but instead placing them in bamboo cages beneath a sacred tree known as Taru Menyan. It is believed that this tree emits a pleasant fragrance that masks the smells of decay, allowing residents to coexist with an open cemetery like that of Trunyan.

As we explore this eerie display of skulls, you'll learn about the legends integral to the village’s identity. For instance, it is said that only married individuals are granted the privilege of resting in these unique enclosures.

Upon concluding our intriguing visit, we'll stop at a local restaurant in Kintamani where you can enjoy a meal at your leisure.

Following lunch, we will venture to the natural hot springs of Lake Batur for a serene soak in its warm, bubbling waters. Afterwards, we will return to Ulundanu, pausing to explore a coffee plantation on our way back.

Upon our arrival in Ulundanu, we will transport you back to your hotel, concluding the day approximately 9 hours after the initial pickup.
