Eyüp Tour + Basilica Cistern Visit
Descrizione
This Eyüp tour invites you to discover one of Istanbul's most historic districts, featuring a visit to the Basilica Cistern, a significant monument of the city.
Tour Options
While making your reservation, you can select one of two options based on your available time to explore the wonders of Istanbul. Both alternatives include guidance in English. Below are the details for each option:
4-Hour Tour
We'll gather at your chosen meeting point at the specified time to commence this memorable journey.
Our first destination will be the remarkable Basilica Cistern. This ancient water storage facility from the Byzantine Empire is renowned for its 335 captivating columns and enchanting ambiance. Do you wonder about its original purpose? We will provide insights into its functions during both the Roman period and the Ottoman Empire as we explore.
Following our time at the cistern, we will visit the historic Eyüp Sultan Mosque, a site of great importance for Muslims and one of the oldest mosques in the city. This location is ideal for appreciating and understanding traditional Islamic architectural styles.
Next, we will take a break at Café Pierre Loti, named after the esteemed French writer. Set on Pierre Loti Hill, this spot offers breathtaking views of the Golden Horn, perfect for enjoying the surroundings.
After four enriching hours, we will conclude our tour at the Eyupsultan Teleferik tram station.
8-Hour Tour
If you have additional time to enjoy your visit, consider our 8-hour tour, which includes the same itinerary as the first four hours of the shorter option.
After taking in the beautiful views from Pierre Loti Hill, you'll enjoy approximately one hour of free time to savor a meal and experience authentic Turkish cuisine.
Post-lunch, we will explore the Fener neighborhood, home to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the spiritual heart of the Orthodox Church. Here, you'll learn about the area's rich history and religious importance. We'll also take a stroll through the Balat neighborhood, recognized for its vibrant streets and architecture.
The tour will wrap up at the Fener tram station.
